Comcastic

I had a somewhat rushed morning today, so I decided to go with my quick and easy breakfast from yesterday again.  I even ate it the same way, in stages :-)

Great Harvest Honey Whole Wheat with 1 Tbsp peanut butter, 1/2 banana, nutmeg sprinkle and blueberries

Scrambled egg
After dropping Emily off I headed to Comcast :-(  I figured our TV would weather the change to digital since we bought it in the last 10 years, but apparently not.  Thus we needed an adapter to watch cable which we only have because they ran a deal last year where it was cheaper to have cable + internet than it was to just have internet.  My mom was able to get 4 adapters shipped to her free last week, apparently I waited too long because they said I could only have 2 and they'd ship them to me for $10.  Boo.  So I had to pick them up in person, but once I got into Comcast they wouldn't let me pick up the adapters because the account is in Will's name, so I had to call him and have him try in his last 8 minutes before a conference call to get Comcast to add me to the account.  Of course he was on hold with them longer than 8 minutes and had to hang up, but in the meantime the lady called me back over because it turns out they actually COULD give me the adapters, they must've just wanted to inconvenience me a little bit first.  Out of spite I took the 2 I was allowed even though I only needed one.  I hate that there's a monopoly on cable service here!  Comcast is a MISERABLE company and there's no way they'd be able to treat people like they do if there were some competition.

Afterward I got to do the new Bodypump release 80 which put me in a better mood.  Well, I got to do everything up through biceps since I always have to leave early to make preschool pick-up.  I had heard it was tough and it definitely was (especially the biceps!) but overall I don't think it's worse than release 79.  That's a very good thing, since 79 is an hour of pure agony!

After Bodypump I had a Babybel Light cheese wheel and a Zevia soda.  I am kinda sick of taking pictures of those things since they're just packaged and boring looking so I may not anymore.

Next was a drive down to Germantown to eat lunch at my sister's house.  I packed a salad:

Greens, tomatoes, cucumber, 1 oz feta, 1 tsp olive oil, balsamic vinegar and a chickpea burger from last night
Then it was off to Trader Joes!  I didn't think I would need to buy that much because we still have a good supply of dried fruits and nuts from Christmas leftover.

Yeah.
I love going shopping with help!  Mom checked out early and sat with the girls while I paid 5¢ per bag at checkout :-(  Despite noticing the sign last time AND reading about it on Lauren's blog I still forgot to bring reusable bags!  Kathleen saved me about 15¢ by kindly sharing some of her bags with me.
Trader Joes greeters
I was quite hungry once we got home, so I made up a yummy smoothie, pictured here in front of my HYACINTHS I bought at TJ's.  I can't help myself...I love these flowers and the first time I see them each year I always grab some to come perfume my home and remind me that spring will be back eventually.
Vanilla almond milk, frozen mango chunks, 1/2 cup plain nonfat yogurt, 1 banana, lots of ice and a large kale leaf
I also had to break into these:
Trader Joe's jalapeño-stuffed olives
Dinner was heavy with Trader Joe's ingredients as well (and no, this post is not sponsored by Trader Joes!):
Lemon maple salmon and asparagus, black rice mixed with 3 Tbsp Trader Joes  black bean and roasted corn salsa
An interesting flavor combo to be sure, but I wanted something easy to sexy up the rice a little.  Unfortunately, this salsa suffers from the same issue as TJ's fat free spicy black bean dip...too much vinegar!  Yeesh.  It makes my face pucker and my eyes get squinty.  Mixing it in with rice was perfect though because it diluted the vinegar somewhat.

And now it's off to bed early because crazy Will was up pacing around the house at 2AM this morning so a bit of extra sleep is needed (and despite the fact that I slept just fine last night I'm never one to turn down extra sleep!).
